In 1891, Nikola Tesla managed to vastly improve the system of distribution of electrical energy from the alternating current generator. The previous model was only capable of 100 - 300 alternations of current per second. This new version could produce up to 15000 alternations of current per second or more. He used a field-magnet core made up of two independent parts with grooves for the reception of one or more energizing coils. This invention has become the basis of all modern electric generators.
