In 1940, James B. Cooper created a device to control the rate of pressure in the cabins of aircrafts. This device is capable of maintaining any pressure in a cabin, within a limit, and can function at any altitude. It can also supercharge the cabins of airplanes. He used a valve for controlling the exhaust of air from the cabin while replacement air is pumped into the cabin. This same principle is still in use for pressurizing the cabins of modern aircrafts.
