In 1921, Orville Wright and James M. H. Jacobs envisioned a way to improve the aerofoil of the airplane. This invention focused on modifying the aerofoil to greatly increase the lift generated by utilizing the low pressure zone of the wings. This resulted in further benefits, other than greater lift, for the airplane such as improved angle of take-off and landing for the fuselage, lower landing chassis height and maintaining lateral balance. Their idea on the aerofoil is responsible for the creation and shape of the wings on every aircraft ever created.
