At the start of 1900, Alexander Churchward put forth an improvement for the dynamo machine. His improvements included the usage of laminated rings. He managed to improve the efficiency of the machine, counteract the sparking at the commutator and reduce the armature reactions. The rotation of the armature in the magnetic fields usually displaces the field lines and distortion of the uniformity of induction. Laminated materials are still in use for electrical components in the modern world.
